It covers planning a trial for both parameters that are changed and variables that are measured. It goes through a DoE approach to show the power of the method. Examples are given of real trials that enabled a very defined set process parameters to be reached. This impacted strongly on achieving an operating window that enabled a stable, low reject production of difficult parts. Using examples from real life trials should assist the die caster to apply these methods in their own plant.
